Mathilda’s
pieces are the product of an unconventional
self taught technique. Everything (sterling silver,
copper, and brass) has been
formed from the raw
materials.
It is cut, hammered, dapped, punched and stamped by hand and then, in some cases, oxidized to give it an antique feel. Then using all cold connections it is finished with strands and hoops of silver or attached to chain.
Objects such as
beetlenut, pearl, stone, ostrich egg shell, and other
materials are added
to accent some of the pieces.
